As fans tried to come down from the excitement and anxiety of Bayern Munich’ 5-4 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, there were a number of different coping mechanisms being used.
From the other side, PSG coach Luis Enrique had his own form of figuring out what just happened — expressing disbelief at the insanity of the match.
“We deserved to win, to draw, and even lose this game,” Enrique said (as captured by Fabrizio Romano).
The head coach, though, immediately turned his focus to the second leg of the tie
next week by consulting his staff as to what it might take to win this tie at the Allianz Arena.
“I asked my staff: how many goals do you think we’ll need to score there to advance. They said at least three,” Enrique said.
Three goals? Four goals? Five goals? Anything seems possible for either team. If you are looking for PSG to sit back and try to protect a precarious one-goal advantage, you will be disappointed.
“We will go to Munich with a clear idea — attack and win the game,” Enrique stated (as captured by Romano).
