UFC 330 went down last night (Sat., Aug. 15, 2026) inside Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pa., which saw Islam Makhachev defend his Welterweight title for the first tim ever by defeating Ian Machado Garry via unanimous decision (highlights here). In the co-main event of the evening, Mackenzie Dern defended her women’s Strawweight title — also for the first time — by defeating Gillian Robertson after five dominant rounds, while Jalin Turner secured a 39-second knockout win over Kaue Fernandes
(see it again here).
Winner: Islam Makhachev
Who He Should Face Next: Michael Morales vs. Carlos Prates winner
Now that Makhachev has his first 170-pound title defense on his belt, the pressure is off a little bit. He broke Anderson Silva’s win streak record with 17 victories in a row, and now he plans to extend that in order to make it an unbreakable record. Joe Rogan claimed that the fearsome champion could have walked away once he locked up a title defense, but that does not appear to be the case. And it would be a shame, too, because he still has a lot of fun fights to entertain. That said, there is not a clear-cut next man in line. Michael Morales did serve as the backup for UFC 330, but we have Carlos Prates ranked No. 1 in the division. The easy choice is to have them face off against one another to see who gets next.
Winner: Mackenzie Dern
Who She Should Face Next: Zhang Weili
After locking down her first defense of the women’s Strawweight title, Dern can now look ahead to one of her toughest fights ever against former division champion, Zhang Weili. The Chinese-born brawler vacated the 115-pound strap in 2025 in order to move up to Flyweight in an attempt to win the title there. She ultimately came up short against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 322, so it’s time for her to drop back down in an attempt to reclaim the strap she left behind.
Winner: Jalin Turner
Who He Should Face Next: Drew Dober
After retiring in 2025, Turner returned with a vengeance and has now secured back-to-back first-round knockout wins, including his lightning-quick finish over Fernandes. That said, he still has some work to do before he can get close to cracking the Top 15. A fight against Dober sounds entertaining enough. Dober is also riding a two-fight knockout win streak and was most recently seen defeating Michael Johnson at UFC 326 (see it here).
Winner: Dustin Stoltzfus
Who He Should Face Next: Gilbert Urbina
Stoltzfus was able to snap hos two-fight losing streak after defeating Mansur Abdul-Malik via second-round submission (highlights). Coincidentally enough, Urbina is also coming off a big win over Vlastislav Cepo, knocking him out a few weeks ago in the very first round (highlights), which snapped his own two-fight losing streak.
Winner: Esteban Ribovics
Who He Should Face Next: Mateusz Rebecki
Ribovics sent Edson Barboza into retirement with a loss after knocking him out in the second round. It’s a nice bounce back win after being submitted by Mateusz Gamrot in his fight prior. He is an even 2-2 in his last four fights, so he needs to get a bit more consistent when it comes to securing wins. A fight against Rebecki might be a good option next. The Polish bruiser is coming off a first-round knockout win over Kyle Prepolec in the very first round a few weeks ago.
