With the offseason in full swing, not much has revolved around the Suns as we await training camp to start. That said, Mat Ishbia loves to make a big splash in times of quiet around here, and this reveal is sure to do that for fans in Phoenix. The latest news coming into Phoenix is that next year there will be a major addition outside the Mortgage Matchup Center.
This addition of fans will be amazing, as it lets them take in an immersive experience before they even set foot in the arena. Mat Ishbia has done a fantastic job bringing that to life in Phoenix, already addressing stadium food prices. Now, this latest addition will make it even better, as fans can see a 226-foot-wide, 41-foot-tall screen that will be open year-round.
“We want everyone who visits Mortgage Matchup Center to have a memorable experience, and that starts the moment they arrive,” Ishbia stated. “We’re creating a place where fans can come together for the biggest moments in sports and entertainment, and our new LED display gives us a powerful new platform to celebrate the Suns and Mercury, connect with our community and engage with our fans.”
This will aid not only sporting events for the Suns and Mercury here in Phoenix but also concert venues. Walking by and seeing Suns highlights on the screen, or even having an amazing playoff watch party there, will bring the community together for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As someone who has yet to travel to Phoenix, I only want to get there as fast as I can to witness it.
POD:With the World Cup this past summer, these types of watch parties happened all over the USA on screens like this. The NBA playoffs have also shown this recently, with the New York Knicks in their latest championship run. This is smart for Mat Ishbia to take advantage of and put right outside the arena for fans to enjoy.
Can you imagine coming out of the stadium after a big win to a crowd of fans already celebrating? The atmosphere would be something to take in and make the most of, which I am sure is why this is coming to the Valley. Just need to get some misters…
With the All-Star Weekend coming to Phoenix in 2027, making it a venue they appreciate and want to return to is a must for Mat Ishbia. Now, with this latest addition coming through, it only seems to get better for fans in terms of what to expect when visiting, while also enhancing the experience for the die-hards who are there for every single whistle.
