The Golden State Warriors will wrap up their short road trip with Saturday night’s primetime matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM PT in Los Angeles and will be shown on ABC.

Golden State is coming off one of its most emotional wins of the season after defeating the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night, 101–97. During a turbulent
stretch for the Warriors which included Jimmy Butler’s season-ending ACL tear and the added tension stemming from the NBA trade deadline, the team needed something to lift its energy — something they found in Phoenix.
Playing without Stephen Curry — as well as Jonathan Kuminga, Buddy Hield, and Trayce Jackson-Davis following Wednesday’s trades — the undermanned Warriors trailed by as much as 14 points in the fourth quarter. However, with just over nine minutes remaining in regulation, the team locked in defensively and closed the game on a dominant 22–5 run to complete the comeback and steal the win on the road.
What to watch for tonight:
Saturday’s matchup will feature two teams missing their primary offensive engines. Curry remains sidelined with a lingering knee issue, while the Lakers will be without Luka Dončić, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Without Curry, the Warriors have leaned heavily into volume shooting from beyond the arc. Golden State attempted 55 three-pointers against Phoenix and 48 in the game prior against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The increased volume is by design as head coach Steve Kerr emphasized that with limited shot creation available, the Warriors must manufacture offense through space and pace. Expect that approach to continue against a Lakers defense that is allowing opponents to shoot 36.8 percent from beyond the arc this season — tied for the seventh-highest mark in the NBA.
