The Minnesota Vikings (and the 31 other NFL teams that don’t matter nearly as much) are just about six weeks away from finally starting training camp, and today the team released the schedule for how things are going to go when things finally get started at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan. Let’s go over that schedule here for you.
There will be 13 practice sessions that are open to the public, with the first of those coming on Saturday, 1 August, which is being dubbed “Back
Together Saturday.” That is also Legends Weekend, as there will be numerous former Vikings in attendance in Eagan as well.
As we’ve mentioned previously, there will also be two joint practices between the Vikings and the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the preseason game between the two teams. Those joint practices will take place on 19 and 20 August, the last two open practice sessions of this year’s camp.
The annual night practice will take place at TCO Stadium on Sunday night, 9 August.
The schedule for all of the practice sessions (with the exception of the night practice) is the same. The facilities will be open from noon to 5:00 PM each day, with practice starting at 2:30 PM. For the night practice, the facilities will be open from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with practice getting underway at 7:00 PM.
Season ticket holders will get priority for tickets, with availability starting on Tuesday, 16 June at 10:00 AM Central Time. Tickets will become available to the general public on Thursday, 18 June, at 10:00 AM Central Time. Tickets are free for season ticket members and for all children under 36” in height, which is. . .odd. (Not the season ticket members part, the height thing.)
For non-season ticket members, tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 17 and under. The only exception to those prices is, again, the night practice, which sees an increase to $15 for adults and $10 for children 17 and under. All training camp ticket reservations can be made at vikings.com/camp.
How many of you out there are planning on making the trip to Eagan for this year’s training camp? Again, we’re only about six weeks away from having actual, honest-to-goodness football news to talk about, and man. . .it can’t possibly get here soon enough.
