Wow! What a game! In a season of hoping to get a top pick, the Utah Jazz have been back and forth with the wins and losses. Do we want to win? Do we want to lose? Who knows! But it’s sure fun to get a heart-pounding
victory after a couple of absolute crapshoots against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Either way, the Jazz won a thriller tonight in Memphis 130-126.
Tonight was Keyonte George’s night. The young guard continues his ascendence to untouchable guard on this roster and is starting to have more lights-out shooting nights than off shooting nights. Key had 27 points at the half and absolutely caught fire again in the second half, finishing with 39 points of 5-9 from three and 10-10 at the free throw line. He’s looking great, even if the defense is slow-going.
The Jazz were down in the 2nd half before the most unlikely of heroes came to our aid – the ageless Kevin Love. K-Love was a flamethrower in the 4th quarter and ended the game with 20 points on 4-10 from three. The bench, overall, played great with Brice Sensabaugh providing some decent shooting and Isaiah Collier dishing out 8 assists.
I’d also like to give a shout-out to Mr. Tank Commander Jusuf Nurkic. The man had a near triple-double, finishing the match with 13 points, SEVENTEEN rebounds, and 7 assists. A great overall showing for the Bosnian center.
Memphis didn’t make it easy, however. With a combined team 46% from three, the Grizz received incredible shooting from Santi Aldama and Jaylen Wells. The story of the game for them, though, was Cam Spencer and his perfect shooting from the 3 point line. He was 6 of 6! Here’s to hoping the Jazz some day get a Spencer brother on their team.
A couple of other notes on the game…Ace Bailey struggled shooting, but still had the highlight of the game with an alley-oop dunk assisted by George. I can’t wait to see the future this guy will bring.
Utah moves to 9-15 on the season and the discourse will now move to whether or not we are doomed to give our pick to the OKC Thunder, one of the greatest NBA teams this world has ever seen. Discuss and argue below.
The Jazz take on the Dallas Mavericks next on 12/15.
