The Tar Heels are in Raleigh tonight to face off against NC State in the one lone regular season matchup between these two teams. Carolina fans hoped that the situation would be a bit rosier going into this game, but it was announced that Henri Veesaar will not play tonight, so the front court will consist of Zayden High and Jarin Stevenson again. The good news is that both players did really well against Pitt, but the bad news is that the Wolfpack on paper is a better team. Needless to say, this is not an ideal
situation.
Still, the whole “next man up” mantra will have to ring loud and true in this game. Removing focus from the front court, Hubert Davis will need another good performance from his guards in order to get the job done tonight. Seth Trimble attacked the rim effectively against the Panthers, and Luka Bogavac was more aggressive than he tends to be as well. These two along Derek Dixon will need to make sure State doesn’t have two much fun trying to take down a one-legged Carolina team.
If you chose to not travel to Raleigh for this one, all I can say is that I do not blame you one bit. That said, feel free to hang out with us in the comments section, and we’ll be back after the game with post-game analysis and takes. Until then, Go Heels!
