James Franklin and Penn State football have not put out a depth chart since spring 2020 — so, we’ve decided to make our own version. This year, we will release an updated post with the depth chart each week, reflecting what we see on the field and during practice sessions.
Since the Nittany Lions unfortunately had to play their starters for much of the FIU game, we didn’t learn much about the depth chart since last week. Much remains the same outside of some minor tweaks.
The RB3 spot continues to
be a battle, but only Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen saw the field last week. Franklin mentioned this week that Quinton Martin Jr. has been dealing with some “bumps and bruises” and has not been able to vie for Cam Wallace’s role.
There might as well be an “OR” between Audavion Collins and Elliot Washington II at this point. The same might go for the safety rotations between Dejuan Lane, King Mack, and Antoine Belgrave-Shorter. Washington actually led the cornerbacks in snaps against FIU, and Lane led the safeties.
For those who asked, I also added uniform numbers in parentheses this week. Hopefully, we’ll see some that we don’t recognize during the Villanova game.
