Bayern Munich is set to extend both Max Eberl and Jan-Christian Dreesen in their roles as board member for sport and CEO, respectively. One such person who probably won’t be getting an extension is chief scout Nils Schmadtke, who is one of Eberl’s trusted men.
Reports of his exit have been circulating in the media and when Eberl was asked about it, he sounded a bit touchy with the subject. “I can’t confirm that,” Eberl said flatly (Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Nils
has one year left on his contract, just like I do. We shouldn’t be defaming people. That’s a touch too much for me right now.”
Right now, the club is preoccupied with the recent collapse of Jamal Musiala on the pitch during the 4-2 friendly win over Heidenheim. A statement from Musiala is expected to come soon; Eberl himself did not give an explanation regarding Musiala’s condition.
