Ole Miss is now the number eight team in the country after a 43-35 loss at Georgia, but oddsmakers think there will be a two game losing streak for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels after Saturday.
FanDuel Sportsbook opened with Oklahoma as a -3.5 favorite over Ole Miss with bettors swelling that line to -4.5 as of Tuesday morning. The moneyline for an Oklahoma win sits at nearly 1:2 at -196 while an Ole Miss win would net +162.
The over/under is currently at 53.5 points on Tuesday. This is a number that
will interest a lot of fans as it was expected the Rebels and Bulldogs would have a more defensive battle last week before 78 points were scored. Is Pete Golding’s defense a little fatigued or as the kids say “cooked” halfway through the season? If OU’s offense posts another 40+ point outburst, it could be the sign Kiffin and Co. aren’t headed for a College Football Playoff berth.
Personally, I think this game is going to be a much lower scoring game, so the under 53.5 is where I would land if you’re wanting to place a bet in the midweek. Another prop bet to look at on FanDuel Sportsbook is the touchdown scorers with Kewan Lacy (-160), Trinidad Chambliss (+130), Trey Wallace (+230) and Dae’Quan Wright (+260) as some of the Rebel player options.
I’d be watching the spread on this game as it looks like money is headed in Oklahoma’s direction heavily already. If it’s anything like last week, the Georgia spread ballooned to -7.5 by gametime and was more attractive for an Ole Miss cover (though it didn’t happen). The Sooners getting bet up to a six or seven point spread would be tough to turn down if you’re wanting to put a boat payment amount of money on the Rebels.
