The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to square off in Week 3 of the 2026 preseason.
It will be the final opportunity for players on the roster bubble to earn a roster spot or practice squad invitation.
Joey Aguilar and Trebor Peña are two names to monitor. They’re undrafted rookies hoping to carry over a strong performance from last week’s game. Peña is looking to be the next iteration of Parker Washington — an undersized receiver who first saw the field on punt returns before
carving out a role in the offense — and Aguilar is competing for backup quarterback duties behind Trevor Lawrence.
Head coach Liam Coen said Aguilar had “a good showing” in Week 2 of the preseason.
“Yeah I think he had some clean pockets, not discrediting what he did. Just towards the end of the game, it was cleaner, a little bit cleaner. I thought he did a nice job of just finding the completions that were there. Not trying to do too much and, in all actuality ask him, he should have probably been 100%. The one that was incomplete where he moved off his spot; he can make that throw. The movement game is where we got to keep working with him. Like when he does get moved off his spot and has to break around or have a dirty pocket, still be able to find completions.”
