Good
morning folks. It’s the beginning of a long off-day for Seattle before a Game 5 showdown against Tarik Skubal. Here’s what you need to know as you get your day going.
MLB playoff scores…
- The Cubs battled hard against the Brewers, ultimately winning 4-3 to push the series to a Game 4.

- The Phillies offense came alive in an elimination game against the Dodgers, allowing Philadelphia to win 8-2 to force a Game 4.
In Mariners news…
- Tyler Kepner at The Athletic recapped the Mariners’ Game 4 loss to Detroit, with quotes from several players and coaches. ($)
Around the league…

- David Ross, Mark DeRosa, Walt Weiss and Eddie Perez — all former Braves — are reportedly in consideration for Atlanta’s managerial opening.
- Royals owner John Sherman is providing the front office with “plenty” of payroll space to make moves this winter.
- New Nationals GM Paul Toboni has already begun to clean house as the organization hits the reset button.
- Jays shortstop Bo Bichette has resumed light jogging in his rehab from knee injury, and the team hopes he can be back at some point during the postseason.
