Oleksandr Usyk has landed in a little bit of hot water after the heavyweight world champion was caught dancing at a recent concert in Ukraine.
It seems harmless, but Usyk’s onstage moves may actually lead to backlash from the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
That’s because Usyk is supposed to be “injured” and unable to book his next fight, which is an ordered title defense against Joseph Parker. Usyk is coming off a dominant knockout victory over Daniel Dubois back in July, but his team delayed a booking
against Parker because the heavyweight champ was suffering a back injury. WBO granted Usyk and his team a 90-day suspension, but it appears the Ukrainian superstar may not be all that hurt.
Usyk, who is one of the biggest stars in combat sports today, was recently pulled on stage for a concert in Ukraine. “The Cat” is known for his dance moves and wasted no time boogeying down. His “back injury” certainly didn’t seem to be bothering him.

In hindsight, dancing on stage and getting filmed may have been a mistake because now the WBO is investigating whether or not Usyk violated the terms of his recent injury suspension (via DAZN). The organization has already sent sent a letter to Usyk’s team requiring them to provide “detailed and thorough” clarification on the heavyweight champion’s current health.
Stay tuned as Usyk could end up being stripped of his WBO belt!
