APC, or Association les Professionnels du Catch, is an independent wrestling promotion based in France that’s been in operation for more than 20 years. They booked former TNA World champ Moose for an appearance
on their March 22 event, but announced yesterday (Feb. 12) that they’ve cancelled that booking.
In an official statement issued on social media, APC point to “allegations” against Moose (real name Quinn Ojinnaka) as the reason, but doesn’t elaborate. This translated version of the statement is followed by the original in French:
After being informed by members of our community of past events involving Moose, APC has decided to cancel his booking at our show scheduled on March 22nd.
We would like to point out that neither APC promoters nor the creative team knew those allegations beforehand.
Those allegations were brought to our attention recently and we immediately took the time to discuss the matter internally in order to act responsibly.
We still maintain the 22nd March date but we deleted the previous post so as to post a new one very soon with a new announcement.
We thank our community for their (alertness or awareness idk) and their trust. We remain fully engaged to defend our values, which are the strength and integrity of our promotion.
– APC Board
It’s widely assumed the “past events” that led APC’s decision are the 2009 domestic violence arrests of Ojinnaka and his then-wife, and subsequent one game suspension by the NFL for Ojinnaka (who was a member of the Atlanta Falcons roster at the time). This was also rumored to be why WWE passed on signing Moose, although he has now appeared as part of the NXT partnership.
Neither TNA nor Moose has commented on the situation as of this writing, and seem unlikely to. He was featured in the opening segment and main event match of Impact Wrestling last night.
