For the NFL’s Week 12, the (5-5) Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the (8-2) Indianapolis Colts on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are hoping to rebound from bitter back-to-back losses to the Buffalo
Bills and Denver Broncos. In all probability, they’ve played themselves out of their chance to win a 10th consecutive AFC West title, but can still reach the playoffs by being close to perfect in the final seven weeks of the season. That challenge begins against the Colts, who are coming into Kansas City on the heels of their bye week.
First Quarter
Indianapolis opened at its own 25 after receiving the kickoff and moved into neutral field position before penalties stalled the series. Davis opened with a 6-yard throw to Michael Pittman Jr. to the IND 48 (13:02). Jonathan Taylor’s right-end run to midfield was negated by a holding call on Tanner Bortolini, pushing the Colts back to the IND 39 (12:20). A short Pittman reception set up 2nd-and-long, followed by an illegal formation penalty that wiped out a 19-yard gain to the KC 39 (11:06). After a 12-yard completion to tight end Trey Warren to the IND 49 (10:39), a false start backed the Colts up again (9:51). Rigoberto Sanchez punted from the IND 44, with Nikko Remigio calling for a fair catch at the KC 7 (9:41).
