Bayern Munich appears to be done in the transfer market this summer.
After making a couple of key additions to strengthen Vincent Kompany’s squad, the club is not expected to make any further player acquisitions before the transfer window closes. Rather than continuing to chase another signing, Bayern Munich seems prepared to trust the group already assembled.
“Nothing will happen anymore when it comes to new signings. Regarding outgoings, the window is still open after today in some countries, so something
might still happen,” said sporting director Christoph Freund (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We’re very very happy with the squad. And we’re very well equipped.”
There are certainly areas that could still spark debate among supporters. Depth, injuries, and the demands of competing on multiple fronts could make another addition tempting, particularly with the Champions League campaign ahead.
However, the decision also reflects confidence in the squad’s quality. Bayern Munich have added players in Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, who are capable of providing competition and different tactical options. In addition, Bayern Munich has several younger players like Tim Binder, who have impressed enough during preseason to remain involved with the senior team.
Now, the focus shifts from recruitment to results. For Bayern Munich fans, what you see is what you will get for at least the first half of the season.
