The Miami Dolphins released their inactive players list for their Week 1 game against the Las Vegas Raiders and a veteran name headlined the group. Wide receiver Jalen Tolbert will not play in Sunday’s game. The team’s rookie wide receivers, Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, and Kevin Coleman, Jr., along with veteran Malik Washington, will carry the position group.
The Dolphins are a young team this year and, along with the three rookie wide receivers, eight other rookies are active for the game. Starting
left guard Kadyn Proctor, starting middle linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, starting cornerback Chris Johnson, starting safety Michael Taaffe, tight end Will Kacmarek, fullback DJ Herman, safety/linebacker Kyle Louis, and tight end Seydou Traore are all active.
Also inactive for Miami are cornerback Reese Taylor, guard DJ Campbell, tackle Chukwuebuka Godrick, and tight end Justin Joly. All four players were among waiver claims Miami made after the preseason roster cuts and likely need more time with the team before they will be ready to contribute on game day.
Quarterback Brady Cook rounds out Miami’s inactive players list. The team designated him the emergency third quarterback, allowing him to dress for the game, but only being allowed to enter the contest if both starter Malik Willis and backup Kyle McCord are injured.
The Raiders inactive players include cornerback Darrell Luter, Jr., safety Dalton Johnson, linebacker Cody Lindenberg, guard Bryce Cabeldue, tight end Brock Bowers, and defensive tackle JJ Pegues. Bowers had been ruled out of the game earlier in the week with a knee injury. Las Vegas listed quarterback Aidan O’Connell as their emergency quarterback.
The Dolphins elevated edge rusher Clelin Ferrell from the practice squad.
Kickoff for the Week 1 game is at 4:25 p.m. Eastern.
