It has been rumored that defensive end Josh Sweat is not content to stay with the Arizona Cardinals in their current state, and the team has since received trade calls about the Pro Bowl edge rusher.
Sweat, a former fourth-round NFL Draft pick, could be
a possible trade target for New Orleans if there is any doubt that longtime Saint Cameron Jordan is on the roster this season. Although GM Mickey Loomis has confirmed that Jordan has an offer on the table from the Saints, there is still no guarantee of his return as of yet.
New Orleans has already made an impactful move to upgrade their pass rush depth with a draft-day trade for the Las Vegas Raiders’ Tyree Wilson, so it may certainly be in the cards for New Orleans to at least make a call to Arizona to inquire about an asking price.
Sweat was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2018 draft class as a prospect out of Florida State University. The veteran defender played his first season away from the City of Brotherly Love as a Cardinal in 2025. He recorded a career-high 12 sacks while forcing four fumbles and one recovery. Sweat had 30 total tackles last year.
Although the Cardinals’ asking price is unknown and it is only speculated that Arizona would even entertain offers to move on from Sweat, what do you think of this situation? Would you like to see the edge wearing the black and gold? What would you be willing to give up for Josh Sweat?
