It’s gameday for the Pittsburgh Steelers! As the attention turns to the young quarterbacks, the race to make the 53-man roster continues, and tonight’s game will go a long way toward deciding who will or will not start the season on the active roster. Preseason score results matter very little, but each player is one or two plays away from swinging their chances to make the roster or not.
Will Howard and Drew Allar will get all the reps tonight, and the Jets will play their starters with the Steelers
likely resting their starting units for the most part. With the starting receivers for Pittsburgh dealing with injuries, it is wise to play it safe. Will we see the starters in the preseason finale? That remains to be seen.
Additionally, there are reportedly several teams interested in a Joey Porter Jr. trade. However, according to Mark Kaboly, no conversations of the sort have taken place. The back-and-forth between player and team will continue until some sort of deal gets done.
For now, here is Friday’s Three Rivers Report.
