Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Football
We have a game time announcement! Mizzou Football’s Week 3 game vs Troy on September 19th has been set for 11:45 a.m. CST on SEC Network Plus. It will be Memorial Stadium’s 100th anniversary celebration.
This will also be Mizzou’s first Saturday home game of the season.
In case if you missed the earlier game times, the Tigers open up with Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Thursday, September 3rd on SEC Network. Missouri’s Week 2 game in the Border War at kansas has been previously set for Friday, September 11th on FOX.
It will be a big season upcoming for Eli Drinkwitz — as Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports ranks him at No. 23 among the Top 25 Power Four head coaches.
Mizzou took a step backward last year, finishing 8-5 after posting a mark of 21-5 the prior two seasons. Quarterback injuries played a big role in that slide, but Drinkwitz’s Tiger teams have finished each of the last three years at .500 or better in SEC play. Still, if he’s going to climb into the top 20 or higher, he probably needs to start winning more games against the top tier of SEC programs. 2025 rank 24 (+1), High 16, Low 32

Mizzou Football announced that its Week 3 matchup against Troy at home will mark the 100th anniversary celebration of Memorial Stadium. The game will include special recognitions, commemorative moments and fan activities.
Should be a fun game to attend. Get your tickets!
Crowe’s most reliable safety valve might be Jamier Jones, who showed as a freshman at Providence he can make timely cuts when a PNR puts the defense on tilt. Beyond Jones, the Tigers might need Toni Bryant to quickly emerge as a vertical lob threat. As for floor spacing, it’s looking like the Tigers will rely on a communal effort to knock down shots.
It will be fascinating to see how Jason Crowe Jr. will fit in with this offense.
Sowunmi is being eyed by some powerful programs, including Indiana and Cincinnati, so Drinkwitz did what he often does – lock a player down before they blow up on the trail.
Welcome to Mizzou, Dami! A good add to the 2027 class.
