Deion Branch will make an appearance on behalf of his former team at next week’s NFL Draft.
The longtime wide receiver and MVP of Super Bowl XXXIX has been chosen to announce the New England Patriots’ selections on Day 2 of the event. Those selections, coming in the second and third rounds, will be made on Friday, April 24.
Branch, 46, was a second-round draft pick by the Patriots in 2002. He spent a combined seven seasons over two separate stints with the organization, appearing in a total of 89 regular
season games and 14 playoff contests.
As a Patriot, Branch was on the receiving end of 384 passes for 5,149 yards and 28 touchdowns. He also was part of two of the organization’s Super Bowl-winning teams, earning rings to cap off his 2003 and 2004 campaigns.
Branch, who also had stints with the Seahawks and Colts during his career, retired from the NFL in2 2014. He currently works as wide receivers coach at his alma mater, Louisville.
The Patriots currently hold two selections on Day 2 of this year’s draft. The Super Bowl runner-ups are slated to pick 63rd overall in the second round followed by the 95th pick in the third.
The 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh will kick off on Thursday, April 23, with the first round. Following Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, the action will conclude on Saturday with the final four rounds.
