Today, the San Francisco Giants will attempt to not get swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers. In all likelihood, I’ll be able to say that exact same sentence this time next week, too.
Taking the mound for the Giants is lefty Matt “Tugboat” Wilkinson, the burly 23-year old southpaw the Giants got in the Patrick Bailey trade. Wilkinson, who made his MLB debut in August, has bounced between starting and relieving in his rookie season. In six games (four starts), Tugboat is 1-3 with a 4.58 ERA, a 5.13 FIP,
and 12 strikeouts against four walks in 19.2 innings. He pitched three shutout innings against the San Diego Padres his last time out.
At the time of me scheduling this, the Dodgers have not announced a starter. Maybe they just won’t use a pitcher. Probably will win anyway.
Enjoy the game, everyone. Beat LA!
