The Syracuse men’s lacrosse team has a lot of offense to replace in 2027 and Gary Gait added two more transfers to help that project.
Tristan Whitaker from Vermont and Thomas Berry from LeMoyne have committed to playing their final year for the Orange next season. Whitaker, a midfielder, had 83 career points (59g, 24a) with the Catamounts. He was named to the America East All-Conference Second-Team in 2023 and 2024 and last season scored 15 points in 13 games (6 of them starts) for the Catamounts.
Berry is a Tully graduate and last season he led the Dolphins with 31 goals. He’s a finisher with 57 career goals and 15 assists in 41 games at LeMoyne. Berry could find himself in a similar role to Finn Thomson as the player the Orange look to feed while on the attack.
Syracuse will be looking for these transfers to help bridge the transition between the departed senior class and some of the up and coming talent on the roster. Can Gary Gait find the right combination to get Syracuse back to a third straight Final Four appearance?
