This past week, we tried to somewhat cap the plethora of headlines on the Myles Garrett trade to the Los Angeles Rams by running a poll asking whether Cleveland Browns fans liked the trade.
79% of Browns fans voted that they liked the trade. Given Garrett’s stature as a two-time Defensive MVP of the NFL, including breaking the sack record this past year. I think the high acceptance rate is a testament to just how much Browns fans liked the inclusion of Jared Verse into the trade.
Verse is entering
his third year in the league, and was not just some random throw-in piece. He will immediately contend to be one of the top pass rushers in the AFC North, and the entire AFC, with a lot of upside on the horizon. On top of that, with Cleveland passing up on a quarterback in this year’s draft, they now have the ammunition to again, if they so choose to, go all-in for a quarterback in 2027.
There were several other Reacts polls run across the SB Nation network this past week regarding the Garrett trade. Two of those polls were on a national level, while the other two were site-specific to Jaguars and Seahawks fans. Let’s take a look at the two national polls first:
On a national level, 59% of fans now believe the Rams are the favorites to win the Super Bowl. 50% of fans on a national level think that the Browns will do pretty well in the trade too, projecting that Verse will be an All-Pro.
Regarding the site-specific polls, Jaguars fans pondered whether a trade for Garrett would have put them over the hump. Although Garrett would be nice, with the compensation involved, only 24% of Jaguars fans thinks they should have made a trade for him. And last, but not least, we look at Seahawks fans, as they voted on whether their confidence level for Seattle has changed since their division rival acquire Garrett. 51% of Seahawks fans still feel the same, which is basically that they are the team to beat. 46% of fans are at least a little less confident now.
