We learned that the Guardians had placed right-handed reliever Zak Kent on waivers when the Cardinals claimed him today.

Kent was fine in a middle relief role in Cleveland, but his loss isn’t much of a blip. The interesting parts of this news for Guardians fans are two-fold:
-The Guardians apparently wanted their 40-man at 38 and not 39 (where it was after the acquisition of Connor Brogdon). Does this mean another move
is forthcoming? Does it mean they have designs on one or more players in the Rule 5 draft?
-The Cardinals claiming Kent MAAAAYYYYY mean St. Louis has been spending time looking at the Cleveland system. Could the two teams be working on a trade?
Kent’s 4.58 ERA and even his 3.59 FIP won’t be huge losses in Cleveland, but I am interested to see what the team moving on from him means for the future.
