Nick Aldis temporarily relinquished his duties as SmackDown GM to return to the ring for his first ever WWE match at SummerSlam Saturday. Aldis did the job for GUNTHER and then went right back to his authority figure role at SummerSlam Sunday, where he brought Kevin Owens back to WWE.
Aldis’ immediate return to the GM role bummed out some fans who were impressed with his performance against GUNTHER and wanted to see him work more matches in WWE going forward. But fret not, Aldis fans, because the latest
report from WrestleVotes Radio indicates that we will probably see The National Treasure back in action in WWE.
According to Votes, several people backstage in WWE regard Aldis as being just as talented as many other current stars on the WWE roster who appear on Raw and SmackDown each week. There is a belief in the company that Aldis will wrestle in WWE again, and there is also some interest in seeing him get a significant run in that role. However, Nick’s next WWE match is more likely to take place in 2027, rather than 2026.
How do you feel about Nick Aldis getting back in the ring for WWE at some point in 2027? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
