Earlier this week, we asked fans if they think Michigan men’s basketball coach Dusty May will take an NBA head coaching job. And now the results are in.
91% of fans believe that May is staying put at Michigan.
May is reportedly a candidate for the Orlando Magic head coaching job, and Front Office Sports believes he’d also be a candidate for the Golden State Warriors if Steve Kerr doesn’t return next season.
ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania doesn’t believe May will go to the Magic, and May has recently
said he’ll sign his new contract with Michigan in July. Until May signs it, more rumors will likely surface.
Michigan just went 37-3 last season, en route to a national championship. The Wolverines are poised to make another championship run next season, picking up big transfer portal additions in Tennessee C J.P. Estrella, LSU F Jalen Reed, and Cincinnati C Moustapha Thiam. If May stays and Michigan makes another long run in March Madness, he’d be all the more coveted by NBA teams next offseason.
