Larry Wheels is great at bodybuilding … and not much else.
The social media influencer, who got put to sleep by former UFC champ Merab Dvalishvili before getting slapped into the shadow realm on Power Slap, was part of the Brand Risk 15 Boxing event last weekend in Miami, where his bout against Vitaly ended in a “No Contest” after Wheels suffered a torn biceps.
“I’m feeling like things went better than expected,” Wheels told Fred Talks Fighting. “I was more composed than I thought I would be, I even
pulled off a pivot, a couple of clean hooks and I was seeing stars with so much adrenaline that I hit him once when he was down. Big mistake, I apologize to him first and foremost because that was poor sportsmanship. I really am ashamed to have done that and that was the punch that tore my biceps. It’s totally detached, which serves me right for hitting a man when he’s down.”
Wheels is hoping to get back into training as soon as possible.
“This is actually something he could have continued fighting with,” sports physician Brian Sutterer said on YouTube. “Yeah, it’s going to hurt, but this isn’t dangerous or unsafe. This isn’t like a torn ACL or a dislocated shoulder. He very well could have continued fighting if he really wanted to. I’m not saying he should have, but this isn’t a dangerous or unstable injury. Functionally, most people will actually not notice too much of a difference when they have an injury like this. So, this is not something that has to have surgery. This is one of the few tendon ruptures in the body that you do not necessarily have to have surgery for, and, in fact, most patients do not have surgery for.”
