Barcelona shared some good news this week as striker Hamza Abdelkarim has agreed a new contract until 2030 with improved terms and an increased release clause.
The 18-year-old Egyptian was the star of Barça’s preseason with four goals and looks to have a bright future with the club, and Hansi Flick was excited about Hamza’s new deal when speaking at a press conference on Saturday.
“The club has done a great job. He’s a player who performed well in preseason and is competing with other players. He’s a different
type of player and a great prospect for the future of the club. We had to keep him.”
Hamza is a future project and there shouldn’t be many expectations about his prospects in the short term, but his preseason performances have certainly given Flick confidence to keep him with the first team training group and use him when appropriate this season.
