As the Cleveland Browns continue to assess their quarterback room, another interesting option has entered the mix. The Arizona Cardinals announced that they would be releasing Kyler Murray at the start of the league year. Many teams are in the market for a bridge quarterback and may be interested in Murray, including the Browns.
A lot depends on how new HC Todd Monken sees current QBs Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson, and Dillon Gabriel. If Monken believes he has a starter in the room, the other options
are moot. If not, however, Murray and others could make sense.
With a struggling offensive line in Cleveland, Murray’s mobility and good deep ball would make him an asset to the Browns’ offense. He could be an inexpensive signing for any team, since the Cardinals will be responsible for a significant amount of guaranteed money.
There are concerns about Murray’s durability, especially after a foot injury in 2025 and a torn ACL in 2023. His time in Arizona has had many ups and downs on the field, and it is far from a guarantee that he will find success in Cleveland. The Browns have a very crowded quarterback room, so they may choose to focus on the guys that they already have on the roster. If they are in the market, Murray is an option to consider.
Let me know what you think in the comments – Would Kyler Murray be a good fit for the Browns?
