One of the driving forces behind the success of El Grande Americano in AAA, and more generally, are Rayo & Bravo, collectively known as Los Americanos. It remains one of the best stories in pro wrestling that the three guys under the masks could truly transform their careers and get over the way they have. They won a number one contender’s match for the tag team titles last week, and got their opportunity at today’s (Sun., Aug. 30, 2026) Ola de Calor event in Edinburgh, Texas, against The War Raiders.
That would be the same War Raiders who came in having never lost in AAA, and already booked on a tag title match against R-Truth & Damian Priest on the main roster on Friday Night SmackDown.
Americanos spent the match trying to up the pace and force the Raiders to keep up, and they just kept getting smashed. Incredibly enough, Bravo, who is just too smooth with everything he does, also happens to be one of the strongest guys on the roster, and he was lifting Ivar with ease, doing the helicopter spin and all!
In the end, however, The Raiders used their brains over their brawn to keep their titles.
Erik threw one of the belts in to Ivar, so that he could be prepared for Bravo coming off the top rope, smashing his head into it on a diving headbutt while the referee was distracted on the other side of the ring. Ivar scored the pin from there.
