The end of this abomination of a Jets season is nigh. The New York Jets suffered their fourth straight blowout loss Sunday as they fell to the New England Patriots, 42 – 10. The Jets looked like they had
completely checked out as the Patriots scored touchdowns on each of their first six drives. The game was essentially over by the end of the first quarter. Things are getting very, very dark for this Jets team.
Next week the Jets are on the road to close out a horrendous season. They face an 11-5 Buffalo Bills team that has already clinched a wild card playoff spot and will have little to play for. Josh Allen got banged up in the Bills’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles this week and may not play against the Jets. Given that the Bills have little to gain and much to lose if starters get injured against the Jets, we may see a lineup of mostly Bills backups next week. If the Bills do rest most of their starters it isn’t clear the Jets match up all that well with the Bills backups. This is how far the lowly Jets have fallen.
Let’s take a look at the current odds for this game according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The current line has the Jets road underdogs by 11.5 points, despite the distinct possibility the Bills will be resting their starters. The game has an over/under of 39.5 points. On the moneyline the Jets are +530 and the Bills are -750. These odds pretty much capture the moment for a hapless and hopeless Jets team. The end of the regular season next week can’t come soon enough for this wretched franchise.
