A decision has yet to be made on the status of the upcoming boxing match between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, but Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) has finally released an official statement on the matter.
Earlier this week, news leaked that Davis is part of a new civil lawsuit which alleges “Tank” of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit immediately puts Davis in doubt for his Netflix super fight against Paul on Nov. 14.
MVP has already begun to explore options in case Davis isn’t able to make it to the fight. There’s still some time on the clock, but it’s understandable to panic, especially considering the fight will air on Netflix. The larger platform calls for a marquee matchup, which is why MVP reached out to former boxing champion Ryan Garcia to fill in. That’s still ongoing.
On Friday, MVP took to social media to deliver an official statement about Paul vs. Davis and the investigation being launched into Davis’ case. Check it out below:
“Most Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30th, 2025,” the statement read.
“At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted. We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved.
“We will make a determination on next steps once we have completed our review and consulted with the appropriated parties. Until then, we will not be commenting further.“
