The 3-2-1 New York Giants will open Week 7 as 7.5-point underdogs on the road against the 2-4 Houston Texans, per FanDuel
.The Giants are coming off of a 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Giants controlled the game until a Charlie Jones fumble caused the Giants to unravel in the 3rd quarter. J.J. McCarthy took over at quarterback and nearly led the Giants on a thrilling comeback, but fell just short as time expired.
The Texans, meanwhile are coming off of a thrilling 34-31 win over the Jacksonville
Jaguars in London.
The big question facing the Giants is if they can put their Week 6 implosion behind them and show the kind of resilience they did in the previous three weeks. There are, of course, other questions facing the Giants, like whether Jermaine Eluemunor and Andrew Thomas will play. The Giants could use their starting tackles against the Texans’ defense and Will Anderson Jr.
This will also be the second time in a month that the Giants have seen new Texans wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. That’s potentially significant with Paulson Adebo still on the injured reserve while Greg Newsome II and Colton Hood are both dealing with concussions. While the Texans are 2-4 on the season, C.J. Stroud has been playing some of his best football this year.
On the Giants’ side, there’s suddenly a quarterback question as J.J. McCarthy replaced Jameis Winston against the Saints and sparked the Giants’ offense.
