He’s heeeeeeere.
One of Illinois’ biggest offseason additions has finally made his way to campus, as the program announced over the weekend that Mihailo Petrovic is in Champaign.
Petrovic officially signed this month.
The 22-year-old Petrovic committed to Illinois in April. Petrovic, a potential MVP candidate in the Adriatic League, was averaging 14.3 PPG, 7.3 APG, and 2.8 RPG in 26 games played this season at the time for Mega Superbet. At the time, here’s what
Brad Underwood said in a statement:
“Mihailo is the consummate point guard,” Underwood said. “He has a great understanding of how the game is played. He has tremendous speed, and, being a little bit older, also has a physicality about him which we like and is needed in the Big Ten. He excels in ball screens and has all the finishes; that is a big part of his game. Mihailo has been a prolific scorer at times, or a great facilitator when needed; he takes what the game gives him. We are excited to add someone with his talent, experience, and maturity to our backcourt.”
This is a best-case scenario for Petrovic, as it appears he should be good to go for when the season starts in November, and this still gives him a decent amount of time to practice and get up to speed.
