Club Brugge attacker Christos Tzolis played for Offenbacher SC Rosenhöhe Youth and SV Alemannia Königstädten Jugend as a youngster, while later playing for Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Clearly, Tzolis is very aware
of German football, including Bayern Munich’s run of dominance. That, however, will not stand in the way of Club Brugge’s effort to knock off the Bavarians.
As Tzolis said, the Belgian power has “nothing to lose.”
“We have nothing to lose. It’s going to be a tough game no matter what, against the best team in Europe right now. But it’s also going to be a different game for Bayern; it’s not a league match. On Champions League nights, anything can always happen. We believe in ourselves and hopefully we can leave tomorrow evening with a positive feeling. We’re going to suffer a lot, but we’re also going to get chances,” said Tzolis (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It’s great to be back in Germany after two years, especially in this fantastic stadium. We’ll see what we can do tomorrow. It will be difficult, but we are a strong team too. We played good matches last season in the Champions League.
“We’re confident. We’ll have to be compact and confident on the ball. Maybe we can be dangerous on the counter and maybe even score first. And then defend well. This is one of the best teams in Europe. It will be difficult. They’ve already won eleven matches in a row. This is a dream club for everyone, even for me when I was younger. I’m looking forward to it.”
