NBA greats Steve Nash and LeBron James have a podcast called Mind the Game. On it, the two banter about a bevy of topics. Their relationship is light and humorous and from time to time their conversations lead down some strange avenues.
On this occasion, Nash asked LeBron about playing against the Spurs in the 2007 NBA Finals.
In the exchange, Nash asks of Pop could be a spy. It’s a funny musing, but not completely off base.
In 1970, Gregg Popovich graduated
from the United States Air Force Academy with a bachelor’s degree in Soviet studies. He considered joining the CIA and initially underwent Air Force intelligence training before moving into basketball.
Like his protege Tim Duncan, neither initially intended to land in the basketball world, but better for ehehe basketball world that they did.
