Harry Kane’s goalscoring numbers at Bayern Munich are obviously impressive, but Thomas Tuchel believes there has been another evolution that deserves just as much attention.
Tuchel highlighted Kane’s commitment in a documentary that followed England’s journey to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, pointing to his influence on training, the standards he sets for those around him, and how he has continued to raise his level since arriving in Munich.
“He’s always there, he’s always in training, he always wants to
train. The level to which he got himself now, since he’s at Bayern Munich. The level of commitment and training, how he arrived in prep camp, how he arrived in the qualification matches, the speech after the October camp, and he straight away stood up in the dressing room and said, ‘guys, we will keep on going in November, this is what we do’. He found another level in his game, but also as a personality, and how he shows up for training, how he drives training standards is one of a kind. The finishing is out of control good,” said Tuchel(as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
That is quite the endorsement from Tuchel.
Kane has never lacked a reputation for professionalism, but Tuchel’s comments suggest that his time at Bayern Munich has taken those qualities to another level. He is not simply producing on matchday; he is setting expectations in training and taking on greater responsibility within the group.
And then there is the finishing.
Calling it “out of control good” might sound odd, but Kane has certainly given Bayern Munich plenty of evidence to back up the praise. The remarkable part is that Tuchel believes the striker is still finding new levels, both as a player and as a leader.
