Some time ago, we asked for feedback, and one bit of actionable feedback that I got was basically doing a check-in on player performance on a regular basis. My plan is to do that twice a month, and with the 15th of April now behind us, I’ll try to get that up today or tomorrow.
Before I do that, though, I’ll throw this to you: we’re about 12 percent of the way into the season. Which Braves player performance in that 12 percent stretch has surprised you the most?
There are a lot of justifiable choices!
Bryce Elder has looked reinvented, except when he hasn’t. Dominic Smith went from “ugh, I guess we have to start this guy because of a lack of better choices” to an early-season hero whose outputs, even when exceedingly well-timed, are at least somewhat in line with his really good offensive inputs. Ozzie Albies looked moribund and had a hamate bone injury late, but has come out of the gates with good results, even if his inputs are still pretty sad. I’ll stop here, but what ya got?
