The end of the 2026 preseason is upon us with the Carolina Panthers hosting the Houston Texans. Head coach Dave Canales is holding with tradition and resting all of the projected starters in tonight’s game. Instead of preparing the ones for the regular season, tonight is going to be about watching the guys who likely won’t make the initial 53-man roster.
These players are fighting for the last two or three spots on the roster and, more likely, to fill out the 16-man practice squad. The Panthers are currently
carrying 88 players on their roster out of a maximum of 90. They have until Sunday at 6:00 PM ET to cut that number down to 53 players and the practice squad. Now is the last opportunity for your favorite training camp super star to make their name.
