Last Season: Korec only appeared in four games for the Eagles last season, but he was actually the team’s starting goalie on opening night. There was a bit of a question as to who would BC’s starter coming into the season and Korec got the first chance in a 4-3 loss to Quinnipiac. Louka Cloutier got the next start for BC and played well enough to claim the starter’s role for pretty much the rest of the season.
Korec served as the backup, getting two more starts and coming in once during a blowout loss when Cloutier struggled. Korec posted a 1-2-0 record and a save percentage of .866 in his junior season.
Season Outlook: It’s hard to envision a scenario where Korec gets a ton of ice time this season, with Cloutier set to enter his sophomore season and freshman Leo Henriquez about to enter the picture as well. He has only appeared in 11 games total over his three seasons as an Eagle and it’s unlikely that we’ll see him all that often in his senior year.
Fun fact: Korec and incoming freshman Leo Henriquez are both from Bratislava in Slovakia.
