Jalin Turner proved he’s better off unretired earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 6, 2025) at UFC 323 LIVE on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping veteran lightweight
Edson Barboza with a bloody TKO just over two minutes into the very first round.
Turner was coming off a short-lived retirement, but was still a massive betting favorite ahead of his Octagon return. That’s because Barboza is 39 years old and has not looked like himself over the past few fights. Also, Turner is just 30 years of age and holds a 100% finish rate throughout his lengthy MMA career. It was up to “Tarantula” to take advantage of the stage and remind fight fans who he is.
Luckily for Turner, he was able to land a slicing elbow to the side of the head early on that cut Barboza open and created a bloody mess all over the Octagon. Barboza is tough as nails and kept firing back, but Turner’s length, size, and shot selection allowed him to pile up punches and put Barboza on the brink of defeat. A few more punches along the cage finally forced referee Herb Dean to step in and save Barboza from any further punishment.
