Maybe
the Bowlan to Alvarado to Duran trio is the only way the Phillies are going to make it with their current bullpen. However they get to that group, I’m cool with it.

- The bullpen has just gotten worse of late, putting the spotlight on Dave Dombrowski. Don’t worry though. He hugged Bryce Harper.
- Even with the lineup having a big hole in it, is there even a solution available to them at the trade deadline?
MLB news:
- Yuck. It finally happened. What does this actually mean, who knows, but still – yuck.
- The Pirates had an interesting day of emotions. First, they made a trade for Camilo Doval from the Yankees to reinforce the bullpen.
- Then, Pittsburgh saw that Ryan O’Hearn will miss almost two months with a quad strain. A day of mixed emotions.
- The White Sox grabbed themselves a starting pitcher in Luis Castillo (but are paying the rest of his contract).
- Atlanta got a jump on the outfielder market by acquiring Lane Thomas. They also got Bailey Falter, but….eh.
