Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado’s future is still yet to be resolved as we head into the final hours of transfer deadline day.
Hansi Flick seems to have made it clear that Casado is not in his plans for the 2026-27 season. The 22-year-old has not been included in either of Barcelona’s matchday squads this season and has lost his No. 17 shirt to new signing Anthony Gordon.
Casado has been linked with several clubs throughout the summer but is yet to clinch a transfer. With time running out in the window,
the midfielder needs to make a decision or face spending the new few months on the sidelines.
According to Diario Sport, Casado favors a move to Bayer Leverkusen, particularly as he would be reunited with former La Masia coach Carles Martinez at the Bundesliga club.
However, the report claims that Leverkusen would need German midfielder Robert Andrich to leave before they can make a move for Casado.
There have also been conflicting rumors flying about regarding potential interest from Real Betis, while Saudi clubs and Turkish side Besiktas are also still reportedly keen on Casado.
The Barca star may not be keen on either of those options but they could still be potential destinations. The transfer window in Europe’s top five leagues closes today but remains open in Turkey until September 4th and in Saudi Arabia until October 12th.
