The Miami Dolphins could soon be bolstering their pass rush unit with another big name potentially being added to the position room.
As reported on Monday by various media outlets covering the National Football League, free-agent outside linebacker Matthew Judon is visiting with the Dolphins and is expected to sign with the club barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Judon — formerly of the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons — has played nine years in the NFL, totaling 72 sacks during that time. He had 41 combined tackles, 5.5 sacks and an interception for the Falcons in 2024. He also scored a defensive touchdown.
The Dolphins know all too well what it feels like to be short on edge rushers when the team needs them most. Bradley Chubb missed the entirety of the 2024 NFL season after suffering a devastating knee injury near the end of the 2023 NFL season. Fellow outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips has suffered multiple injuries over the past two years which has limited the young player to just 12 games played over that time span.
If the Dolphins were to sign Judon, their pass rushing unit — which also includes explosive second-year player Chop Robinson — could very well be the most productive EDGE group in the National Football League… if those players manage to remain healthy for the duration of the 2025 NFL season.
