Second
Life QB Shift
- Alabama-Missouri: Alabama survived Vanderbilt last weekend, mostly by virtue of two red zone turnovers from Diego Pavia but now they draw probably a better quarterback in Beau Pribula and a sneaky good Mizzou offense. Watch this space.
- Ohio State-Illinois: Speaking of sneaky good quarterbacks, Luke Altmyer is currently second in the nation in adjusted passing yards and has looked the part to date. The Illini were goosed by the Hoosiers, but at this point in time I think that says more about the Indiana than it does Illinois. At the end of the day, Ohio State should be able to five star their way out of any jam they find themselves in.
- Pitt-Florida State: Pitt needed to snap a two-game skid last week and they did it against Thomas Castellanos’ old flame Boston College. FSU should also be able to talent their way out of this, but we’ve seen that the Seminoles can be quite bipolar.
- UCF-Cincinnati: I won’t lie to you, I don’t think Brendan Sorsby is Sunday material. But the Bearcats have found out how to maximize him and it’s kinda fun watching him ball. On the flip side of the coin, Scott Frost will try to avoid a third straight L.
Shootout Saturday Shift
- Indiana-Oregon: I would say there is a very decently good shot this is either the first leg of a game that will be ran back either in the Big Ten championship or the College Football Playoff. Or potentially even both.
- Oklahoma-Texas: It’s the Red River Shootout. Enough said.
- Iowa State-Colorado: A fun game to play while watching this game: Colorado has failed to score more than 21 points in a loss this season. This is literally football blackjack, except you bust if you don’t hit 21.
- NC State-Notre Dame: It’s One Battle After Another for the Fighting Irish with two losses. No space for errors.
Garrett Nussmeier Memorial Shift
- South Carolina-LSU: hi i am garrett. i am in heaven now. i’m so sorry I died.
- Michigan-USC: Oooo pretty helmet game.
- Georgia-Auburn: Auburn certainly needs a Prayer at Jordan Hare this weekend! Folks, I te—yanked offstage by comically large hook*
- BYU-Arizona: It’s early October, but the Big 12 Title picture will get clearer this weekend as both Arizona and Utah schools square off in pivotal matchups. Here, the undefeated Cougars head down to Tuscon to face off against a pretty resurgant Wildcats squad which dismantled Oklahoma State last week.
Robert Kekaula Memorial Shift
- Arizona State-Utah: The other leg of the Four Corners matchup sees the Utes (likely) fighting to stave off elimination after their pantsing in Lubbock last weekend. The Sun Devils have yet to lose in conference play but have the Mississippi State loss hanging over them, so a conference title run is imperative to their playoff hopes, and the Red Raiders loom on the horizon…
- San Diego State-Nevada: It’s football.
- New Mexico-Boise State: It’s football.
- Utah State-Hawaii: ALOHA FRIENDS
