UFC Paris live blog: Benoit Saint Denis vs. Mauricio Ruffy

This is the live blog for Benoit Saint Denis vs. Mauricio Ruffy, the lightweight co-main event for Saturday’s UFC Paris card at Accor Arena.

Just six years into his MMA career, Saint Denis has already established himself as one of the best lightweights in the world, no easy feat considering how good the 155-pound division is. After storming up the lightweight ranks, “BSD” was given a huge opportunity against Dustin Poirier last year, but fell short in one of the best fights of the year. A subsequent

loss to Renato Moicano followed, but Saint Denis got back on track in May, submitting short-notice replacement Kyle Prepolec at UFC 315.

Possibly the most dangerous fighter competing out of the Fighting Nerds gym, Ruffy has turned heads since joining the UFC off of Contender Series, scoring two wins last year before knocking King Green out cold at UFC 313 earlier this year in what could end up as the Knockout of the Year. Now, Ruffy gets his chance to crack into the lightweight top 15 and make a real run towards the title.
