In the midst of the Cleveland Browns struggling and falling to 3-11 with a big loss to the Chicago Bears, DE Myles Garrett continued his march toward the single-season sack record in Week 15. Garrett started the week with 20 sacks, 2.5 away from Michael Strahan and TJ Watt. Against the mobile Caleb Williams, Garrett was close to a number of sacks and tackles for loss throughout the game.
Garrett’s first sack in Week 15 came on third and 8 with the Bears in scoring position. The nine-yard loss pushed
Chicago’s field goal attempt back, leading to a miss. The initial sack moved Garrett’s streak of games with one to eight. Garrett had 17 sacks during the first seven games of his current streak.
In the fourth quarter, Garrett once again got pressure on Williams and was initially credited with a full sack, but it was later changed to a half sack on this play:
Prior to this season, Garrett’s career high was 16 sacks. It was noted on the broadcast that the defensive end had a procedure this offseason to have surgery to undo a childhood surgery on his feet, and it has helped him feel much better this season.
The film shows how impressive Garrett’s performance has been as teams are regularly double and triple teaming him, as well as running their entire offense in a way to keep the Browns defensive end from making an impact.
Garrett finished Week 15 with 21.5 sacks, a full sack away from tying the record, with three games left in 2025 to try to set the record. Cleveland hosts the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers before visiting the Cincinnati Bengals to end the season.
