There are two former Dallas Cowboys who were named finalists for this year’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Class: Jason Witten and Darren Woodson.
The class was announced Tuesday morning and to no surprise featured both Witten and Woodson. We have all assumed for a long time now that Witten is a HOF lock, even if it takes him a few years to finally get through. The point is that he will eventually get in.
Darren Woodson has
been a different case, unfortunately. Woodson is one of the most decorated players in NFL history and has long-deserved a spot in Canton, but voters have elected to put other safeties in ahead him over the last few years. They have held his position flexibility against him which is an absurd thing to do, given that he was one of the most important players on one of the greatest dynasties that the NFL has ever seen.
We will find out just before Super Bowl LX which players are ultimately going to comprise the class. Fingers crossed that both Witten and Woody get in.
