Dayot Upamecano is undeniably one of Bayern Munich’s best players, but he’s currently at an impasse with the board over his supposed new contract. Despite strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain, the president of the Rekordmeister is confident of the 27-year-old staying in Germany for a longer period.
“I’m optimistic,” Herbert Hainer declared (Sky Sports Germany via X account @iMiaSanMia). “Everything I’m hearing, including when I speak to him myself, is that he’s extremely happy at Bayern Munich,
he feels incredibly comfortable in the team, and he also feels incredibly comfortable with the coach. This is also reflected in his performances.
“Of course I hope it works out for us. But as I said, at the end of the day, the contract has to be signed first. It’s not a surprise that a player like him, who is playing so well, is also being courted by other clubs.”
The Bavarians are extremely unwilling to let the Frenchman go anywhere, so they are doing everything they can to tie him down.
